In 1990, the year it was founded, it was one of the first business schools in Germany to award bachelor's degrees in cooperation with American and British partner universities .

Since 2004 it has been state-approved as a university of applied sciences by the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art and has been state-recognized since 2007.
