The University of Central Lancashire, or University of Lancashire (UCLan), is a public university in Preston. It was originally founded in 1828 as the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge. It became an official university in 1992. The university operates multiple campuses, including Preston, Burnley, Westlakes in Cumbria, and an international campus in Cyprus.
